How often to maintain

  • Monthly: wipe exterior, check perforations for limescale
  • Every 3 months: soak shower head in white vinegar solution
  • Every 2–6 months: replace activated carbon filter cartridge (depending on usage and local water hardness)

Deep cleaning — step by step

  1. Remove the shower head from the hose (turn anti-clockwise)
  2. Unscrew the cap to remove the filter cartridge — set aside
  3. Submerge the shower head body in a bowl of 50/50 white vinegar and water
  4. Soak for 30–60 minutes (longer for heavy limescale)
  5. Scrub perforations gently with a soft brush or old toothbrush
  6. Rinse thoroughly under tap water
  7. Reinsert filter cartridge and reattach to hose
Never use: abrasive cleaners, bleach, or metal brushes on the shower head — these scratch the finish and can damage internal components.

When to replace the filter cartridge

Replace when you notice: return of chlorine smell in shower water, reduced filtration effectiveness, drop in water pressure, or after the manufacturer's recommended period. Limpéa cartridges last 2–6 months depending on water hardness and usage frequency.
